Nov. 27

Hello,
I hope everyone enjoined their Thanksgiving Break! Thanks for reading, I have a few important updates to share with you.

WATER UNIT
We are in the home stretch and will be wrapping up our Science/English Language Arts Water Unit by Winter Break. On Friday, Dec. 8th (9am-11am) we will take a field trip to the water treatment facility on Lake Mary Road. I am hoping a few volunteers can join us! IF you CAN join us please return the attached slip of paper.

The next few weeks, students will work on independent projects to display what they've learned about water. On Friday, Dec. 15th you are invited to a project showcase to learn about Water Conservation and more! (More information will be sent out soon).

AR READING
On Monday, I sent home a reminder about how many points each student is expected to earn by December 15. Students earn points by reading a book at their independent reading level and taking an AR Test at school. Today (Tuesday), I had each student write their book level in their agendas. PLEASE have a conversation with your student about using their time the next couple weeks wisely so they can pass their AR Goal. Students who pass their goals will be invited to an AR Goal celebration. Students are expected to read 15 minutes each night, during any downtime in class and during Daily 5 in class.

SNACKS
Students are welcome to eat their own healthy snack throughout the day. Each day (Mon-Thurs) I try to give out a healthy snack to students at recess. Thank you for the donations at the beginning of the year. We are currently out of snacks to share with the class. We would greatly appreciate donations of nonperishable, healthy snacks.

Some wonderful options would include:
*Pretzels
*Cheerios
*Crackers
*Granola bars
*Popcorn

Hello!
Thank you for logging on to read the blog! Please don't forget to comment below with your student's name to show you read the blog.

Week of Nov. 6
-Math homework will be handed out on Tuesday! We are continuing to work on multiplication. Students should now know the standard algorithm to help solve each problem but can use any method they feel comfortable with.

Students should read books within their level (given each Thursday at Library & written in agenda) and take an AR quiz at school the next school day after finishing a book.

-Thank you for reading and signing agendas each night! Agendas are a great place to send me a note if needed.
