Dec. 11

Hello,
Can you believe this is the last week until Winter Break? Time is flying by. To wrap up the semester we have a few important reminders for the week.

Holiday Craft Night- Marshall PTO is hosting a Holiday Craft Night on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 5:30. Please bring the family and enjoy some time together creating fun holiday crafts.

Water Project Showcase- Please join us for a short Water Project Showcase on Friday, December 15th. Students have been working hard the past quarter understanding water on Earth. The showcase will last from 11-11:30. You are welcome to stay and eat lunch with your student after as well!

AR Reading Goal- Students have until Friday, Dec. 15 to complete their AR reading goal. Please help your student by encouraging them to read a book in their level each night. Book levels are written inside each student's agenda and books can always be borrowed from our classroom library!

Holiday Book Exchange- We will have a book exchange Friday morning within our classroom. Please help your child find a used book at home that may put a smile on another student's face! PLEASE do not go buy a book if possible. This is just a fun way to give an old book a new life and spark a new reader's interest! Please have your student talk to me privately if they cannot bring a book.

Winter Break- Please remember that school will be dismissed the next couple weeks from Dec. 18- Jan. 1. We will return to school on TUESDAY Jan. 2.

Report Cards- Report cards go home on Friday, Jan. 5.

Nov. 27

Hello,
I hope everyone enjoined their Thanksgiving Break! Thanks for reading, I have a few important updates to share with you.

WATER UNIT
We are in the home stretch and will be wrapping up our Science/English Language Arts Water Unit by Winter Break. On Friday, Dec. 8th (9am-11am) we will take a field trip to the water treatment facility on Lake Mary Road. I am hoping a few volunteers can join us! IF you CAN join us please return the attached slip of paper.

The next few weeks, students will work on independent projects to display what they've learned about water. On Friday, Dec. 15th you are invited to a project showcase to learn about Water Conservation and more! (More information will be sent out soon).

AR READING
On Monday, I sent home a reminder about how many points each student is expected to earn by December 15. Students earn points by reading a book at their independent reading level and taking an AR Test at school. Today (Tuesday), I had each student write their book level in their agendas. PLEASE have a conversation with your student about using their time the next couple weeks wisely so they can pass their AR Goal. Students who pass their goals will be invited to an AR Goal celebration. Students are expected to read 15 minutes each night, during any downtime in class and during Daily 5 in class.

SNACKS
Students are welcome to eat their own healthy snack throughout the day. Each day (Mon-Thurs) I try to give out a healthy snack to students at recess. Thank you for the donations at the beginning of the year. We are currently out of snacks to share with the class. We would greatly appreciate donations of nonperishable, healthy snacks.

Some wonderful options would include:
*Pretzels
*Cheerios
*Crackers
*Granola bars
*Popcorn

Fisk is Back!

Hello,
Thank you for logging on to read our classroom blog. I try my best to update the blog weekly. I hope the information you find here will be helpful. When logging on, please submit the name of your student at the bottom of the post in the comments section to notify me that you logged in. Also, feel free to add any other comments you may have!!

At the start of the year, I spent a lot of time with Mrs. Henley to insure the year started on the right foot so that my return would be a smooth transition! Due to ordering complications, Mrs. Henley did not however have the chance to distribute agendas. Today, I sent your student home with an agenda. It is my goal that families try to check it and sign it each night. This is a great source of communication between home and the classroom! PLease feel free to write questions or comments for me in the agenda. You can also contact me through my school email, rfisk@fusd1.org .

Please join us from 3:35-4:15 for a mini "open house!" I would love to meet you! If you cannot make it, I will see you next week at Parent/Teacher conferences!

Conferences- Next week is Parent/Teacher conferences. I cannot wait to share your student's progress with you! If you haven't already done so, please follow the link,
https://doodle.com/poll/duxbhafipis2srts, and sign up for a time that works best for you! I am working on entering the times students brought in on paper.

Mustang Gallop- Our Annual Mustang Gallop fundraiser is THIS Friday, October. 6th. Please make sure your student wears running shoes and comfortable clothing. If you can, please help your student collect pledges for donations!

Thanks for reading! I am excited to have a great rest of the year!
